Bad / Good News...for Vegas Riders!!

Nellis/Apex proposal, I personally am torn. I heard good from a lot of riders, but there was also a fair share of bad. The good I've heard is; It will be maintained, and kept clean, they will be putting in picnic areas with covered tables for those 120 degree days, and there will be trails, a bmx track, a MX track, a R/C track, and the dunes obviously. The bad is; there will be no more custom "unsafe jumps" built by whomever....(Those are the best if you ask me) no more ride anytime you want, we will have to "Green sticker" our bikes, and have to pay a projected price to get in, (around $20) I understand that the maintenance has to be paid for. The Kicker is, if we don't support the idea they are going to close down Apex/Nellis dunes all together because of some endangered plant species and dust control.......Hmmm go figure, and it is illegal to ride anywhere in the Vegas Valley. are these the dunes just north of vegas, right of I-15?

if they are i sure hope they don't get closed, that is a kick ass place to ride.

Yep that's it! I have been trying to get more info on the status of the proposal, but .......you know how it goes. (waiting for supporters) It is a good place to ride and there is something for everyone, tracks, sand, trails, etc.

Sounds like some of our California representatives moved to Nevada.
Trust me...no good can come from the state and the county getting
their hands on the riding areas. I speak from experience.
