Sorry, Never actually had a Hust Kit... This is all I've ever had on them. Never even used the stinger tips.

Hmmm.... guess some people like super quiet rides, some people like loud ones!
(I like 'em loud!)

I should have picked a different title for the thread... the only real reason I did the mod was not really to replace the Hust Kit, but to replace those ugly "Sparky" spark arrestors that Toomey sells.

In the beginning you were talking about Trinity and then Toomey. Do you have Trinity pipes with Toomey silencers or are you just trying to pattern the ends after the Trinity ends?
I have trinity pipes on my banshee and I'm in the process of having special ends made to adapt my hush kit to them. I like it quiet because there's no reason to have complaints about the noise.
I am also adapting a Toomey silencer to my Motofast 2:1 pipe that I made a custom stainless stinger for. I would be willing to buy one of your sparky tips for that BUT I want to be able to use the snap ring that is on the Toomey's silencer instead of the screws that you use on your sparky end.
And is the screen you have a certified screen or is it just a tea strainer? According to the laws, the spark arrestor needs to be tested and approved by the Forestry Service. And no matter how well it works, if it doesn't have the "approved" stamping on it, it will not pass.
I agree though that the clamp on sparkys are VERY ugly and there has to be something better. You have a good design that looks tons better than the other options out there. But to go to the next step, you will need to spend big money to get it approved.

They are regular T-5 pipes and silencers with the sparkys Trinity makes for their Stage IV pipes! So none of it is really my design... IT's just a mix of two products (T-5 pipes AND silencers, and Trinity Stage IV Sparkys) that I modified to make them fit together. The Toomey snap rings will not work with these end caps. You would have to use the screws to make it fit as they actually slide inside the toomey silencers and there would be no way to get a snap ring in there once the caps are on.

Usually you only get complaints when riding to close to other people's property/homes and I usually don't because I throw up too much dust out here in the desert. So I usually ride away from the housing developments. And noise really isn't an issue at the OHVRA's as long as your within regulations. And this is still quieter than the T-5's would be without the spark arrestor attached.

And yes the spark arrestor is a little "tea strainer" as you call it. Trinity makes the end-caps, but the screen is actually a screen-type Yoshimura spark arrestor insert. I DON'T believe it is USFS approved although Trinity tells me they have been trying to get in touch with them for some time. I guess the point for me is to "avoid the appearance of evil" by having a spark arrestor attached. If it looks like I'm legal, I figure they won't bother me even though it doesn't have the official stamping on it. I've never had anyone bother me yet!
