| i have done a lot of research about long travel and different types, and roll design is deffinately one of the best. Elkas in my opinion are NOT though. Roll design makes very good products, but so does lonestar and other companies that cost WAY less. Also, if you want easy to adjust zero preload long travel shocks, you got to get Custom Axis. They are soooooo easy to adjust. With Elka, you have to adjust, then ride, then adjust, then ride..etc to get it "right". With custom axis, you can 'feel' the difference without riding, just push or pull up on the front end. Last of all, if you get a long travel zero preload front end, you MUST have a zero preload rear shock. Otherwise, you'll bike will fight against itself jumping and hitting bumps. Look at it this way...your front end "preloads" the back when hitting a jump, thus making the bike do the work instead of you. IMO, i'd pass on it, save your money, buy a cheaper set of a-arms and better shocks. I highly doubt the name of "Roll-design" is worth the extra grand you'll spend in comparison to some other brands long travel. If you got any questions, don't hesitate.

| o one last thing, lonestar is excellent when it comes to service as well, usually they fix a bend (if it happends) and are great to deal with. On a side note, i wacked a big tree this weekend for the first time wiht my lonestar +3 long travel settup...not a dent or bent anyware. Also, another side note... every single decent company out there makes their stuff out of the exactly the same material. 4130 chromoly...nothing fancy at all. Some use mild steel, but thats just wrong...lol.
