Long travel VS standard +2 setup i have seen some nasty banshees with the +1+3's where the lower a arm has that curve in it,where it kinda curves flat at the end, am i making sense?? is thhat like a sign of a long travel suspension?
i made a comment in the shoutbox about +3+1 setup and i think somsone said they are all for long travel shocks, and somethin about bottoming out with a normal shock, could u revalve a shock like a 450 shocks and have them work? they are already liek 1 3/4 longer than a stock banshee shock to begin with arnt they? i mean ive seen the adds in books for the long travel ELka setup, but thats far more than i need, $1800 for a front end is a little silly to me,
anyway, i guess my question is: could u get a set of +1+3 arms for the banshee, and run a standard lenght shock on it like a set of those yfz450 shocks, and just have them re-valved for the +3 setup? the increased leverage must put alot more force on the shock am i wrong? is that why the extra long shocks are required?
i really love the way those +1+3 long travel setups sit and look, they probably handle likea dream and we ride alot of rough terrain so a nice suspension would be great, is it possible to get the +3 setup with the curved a arms thats sit real nice without havign to get long travel shocks for it and stuff?
what would the disadvantages be of having those long travel curved a arms u see on some banshees? |
