| I have a 89 lt250r. I just had the jug bored and put a new piston in. The problem is that after I shut it off I can not get it started again unless I clean the plug. When I put the clean plug in I kick it once and it starts. I even tried an iridium plug. Before I shut it off I rev it up to make sure the plug is not fouled out. I let it idle for about two seconds and shut it off. Since I just put the new piston in I am running 32:1 sumper m oil with plus gas. Is their a certain way to shut it off. Can someone PLaese Help Me!!! |

whats your jetting? Also what heat value is your plug (You should run 8s)? |

| My main jet is a 220. What is stock? Oh the guy at my local bike shop told me that the small screw twords the front of the carb is the air/fuel mixure for low speed. He also said that if you turn it in it makes it richer. That seems backwards to me. Does any one know if he is right. |

| i am having the same trouble...but i have no idea what my jets are(im assuming stock) and i went by the manual and ran 20:1.. is this too much oil? |

| Yes!, thats way to much. run 40:1. I always recomend Amsoil dominator, it kicks ass!

| I took the carb apart and made sure it was not sticking or something It had a 220 in it so that was ok. I figured it had to be an inlet air problem. I took the air cleaner off and left the airbox lid off. It ran like a charm. I think the filter is shot but when I got my bike it had mice nest sh*t in it. So I think the inlet tube could be plugged. |

| Try cleaning the filter, and then use a good filter lube. When you took the carb off did you notice anything in the inlet tube? Look at you air intake system and clean all the mouse findings out. As far as you plug ploblem your idle mixture may be too rich thus leaving the plug to wet for a restart. Also look at running a hotter plug. I agree with the 8 range.
