| Try jetting the carb. correctly first. I can not see the bike so I can not be sure but if you have a reasonable fuel to oil mixture like 32:1 or 50:1 that should be fine. Now remove the carburator from the quad. Turn it up side down and remove the (4) screws from the float bowel. remove the idle(pilot) jet, it's the smallest brass thing you can see, it is kind of inside of a hole, you will need a small flat blade screw driver. After removing it see if you can read the numbers on it. Stock is a 37.5. Now if it is or is not a (37.5) you will probably need to get an assortment of jet sizes smaller than the jet you currently have in the carb. You will probably want to buy the main jets at the same time so remove it and see if you can read the size. Only change one jet at a time, so you will be able to tell what changes have taken effect. Pilot first (for idle) then the main jet next (above idle speed). The main jet is hex shaped so you can use a small wrench on it to remove it. Also get yourself about 5 or six new plugs (br8es). Pick a 1 or 2 step smaller jet reinstall the carb and adjust the air mixture screw. Adjustment goes like this (be gentle) and screw it all the way in, now count 1 1/2 turns out. Now start it up and try to adjust the idle speed to get a steady reasonable idle. Now once it idles start to screw the air mixture screw out just a little and listen to the motor for changes in the idle speed if it sound like it's going to die or starts racing turn it back in until it stabilizes then try to turn it in to see what happens if the engine starts to race or die, return it back towards the original position until it stabilizes once you have achieved a stable idle you are set for a ride to see how it performs. Ride it hard then stop and remove the plug and look at it. Is it's wet and black looking down inside next to the ceramic or brown like mocha coffee. It should look about the color of Mocha coffee if it is correctly jetted. If you see alot of smoke or more oily residue from the pipe or a wet and black plug, it may need to be leaner. This is when you will know if you need to change the main jet to make it leaner or not. It will be trial and error and rider preference from here. Hope this helps. I have posted some tuning charts and diagrams of the carbs in other threads about tuning. if I can find them I will try to post links to the threads that they are in.
