Default Updating an 85 LT

Looked through a lot of great info on the site. Want to know from anyone who has updated an 85/6 LT what they are using or can use.

I am looking for newer suspension Front and rear- I think Works is about the only company that makes LT shocks. However it seems by measurement that a Banshee ( maybe some others and please let me know if you know of any) rear shock may work which opens up new possibilities ie AXIS, PEPS, Elka- Anyone know of cross over models for shocks front and rear?

A-Arms no luck even Burgard I do not think still makes these. Any with info on A-arm?

Motor- I know the design of the motor is not optimal but does anyone have a big bore motor or a well matched and ported engine builder that they would suggest. I know that CT and Duncan used to do a lot and even LRD and maybe ESR but has anyone had any current experience with any one? I would like a good woods engine built.

Thanks guys and long live the true quad that started the high performance ATV sector!!! Suzuki's own 1985 Q-Racer

i put a 250r front end on my quadracer, 400ex shocks, for the rear i hava 250r shock. but its valved for a fat lard who weighs like 275-300 pounds, so im gunna get a stock one, i did some a little bit of porting to my motor by myself, and i polished the exhaust port and the head, i kept a little bit of roughness for the intake as i was advised to leave it rough.seems to work great, i have no problem spanking 400ex's z400's (some banshees) and it does a good job keeping up to the new 450's through the woods.

DuraBlue makes an extended rear axle.
I believe Burgard makes A-Arms for the 85-86. I bought my new +2 set off eBay so I'm not positive they still make them, but I think so.
PRM makes some killer skid plates, grab bars, and front bumpers.
I don't believe anyone makes a big bore kit for the 85-86.

P.S. Keep that 85 alive!

Default 86 Lt

Thanks guys. Do you have any pictures of that front end. The Hon A-arms mounted right up? I have some Hon a arms I'll try. After the a-arms you can use aftermarket shocks for a Hon - correct? do I need to use the Hon front end to use the shocks or can I use the Hon shocks on the LT front end as well? Can you use the LT tie rods and ball joints or need Hon as well? also you are saying a stock length Hon 250r shock that fits the stock Hon linkage will work as well? what are the measurements on the stock Hon shock vs the stock suz eye to eye? I have a Hon shock and measured it but I now remembered that it was a no link so the numbers are different along with the linkage. Again thanks guys and if you can I would really like to see some photos.
