Need a rear shock and mixed gas ratio 88lt250r

Im looking for a rear shock for my 88lt250r. I don't want to pay for a new one way to expensive I've heard the 400ex or z400 might work, does anyone know for sure what will fit. Also what should the fuel ratio be. I bought this bike at an estate auction I dont know anything about it. I mixed it 40:1 my husquvarna wr250 is 50:1 but i don't want to lean it out.

You can always rebuild the rear shock. As for the mix follow the Oil Manufactures recommendation. If you use Amsoil it is a 50:1 mix

the z400 shock will only fit the 91-92 lt's. i don't know how the 400ex shock is setup, so i can't tell you if it will fit. a properly set up rear shock will work just as good as an aftermarket cheapy.
