bad omen?

Had the LT goin down the railroad on my way to where we ride and im about 3/4 the way there when i hear a deep humm coming from my bike. Wasnt sure what it was but as i slowed down i could see a 7 inch railroad spike sticking halfway out of my tire. As i am turning around to go home the spike shoots out, nearly hits me in the elbow, and the tire goes flat. Went home, had to wash it and put it away. Wonderfull, first ride on the new motor and she gets a flat 5 minutes in. bad omen?

Hows that work out?? If u dont mind me asking. Im looking for a front end solution myself and 50 in sounds wide enuff but how'd u do it? did u use just the a arms or the front end of the frame also?
