| relieve some pressure from the bolt by putting a bottle jack or something like that in front of the shock linkage and jack it up a little. then keep at it. Try some heat

| alright im going to try this today, as far as i know its stock which is an 88. the pivot nut and washer came off fine but i cant get the bolt to slide out its just deforming the end of the bolt. it even broke my swift i was using. |

| if you have deformed the end of the bolt your down to having to drill it out the hollow ones were bad about mushrooming out when you hit on them you can drill from both sides in just a little bit than slide the swing arm out & drill the rest of the bolt once the motor is out another way is to drill the threaded mushroomed part off than take a smaller drill 7/16 or 1/2 drill about 90% through than take a long rod & tap it out that way you pulling the stuck part out & not trying to swage it in tighter drilling usually puts a little heat in the bolt & swells it and loosens it up just be carefully i've seen cases broken from a stuck bolt and big hammer |

| do you know what size drill bit is close to the size of the bolt that i need to drill. i wanna just do the drill in on each side and pull out the swing arm. |

| My 87 had the same prob. When i rebuilt it 7 yrs ago, came out easy.Last year did the same thing yours did. (broke a drift too!!) The bushing siezes onto the bolt. The bushing was cheaper than the bolt so i cut the frame around the bolt, removed bolt, bushing and small piece of frame. Welded in a new piece(with hole already drilled). New bushings and bolt would have been cheaper but i like to mess with s@#$. ALWAYS USE ANTI SIEZE ON THE BUSHINGS AND BOLT WHEN ASSEMBLING!!!!! Scotty

| I had to hack saw the bolt in half between my swinger and frame on mine. After 4 days of heat, drilling and pounding i wish i had done it to begin with.

| the bolt is a 15mm or .590 i usually step drill it with a 7/16 drill first then 9/16 which usually breaks them free also use a large drill that turns slow so you dont burn the bit up or harden the bolt up I'd use hack sawing as a last resort i've seen frame swing arms & cases damaged from trying to cut them out if the bolt is stuck you have to cut something for the blade clearance and the swing arm pivot bushings are hard so it cuts the soft frame first |

| cool ill try that, thanks, but i don't get hoe if its just a long bolt, how does it get so stuck. also am i drilling all the way through or just t he ends till it clears the swing arm. and since its one long bolt. how does just the ends free it up? sorry just curious |
