Default Track Time

I took my 86 lt250r to the local 1/8th mile drag strip last weekend. I cant say that I'm disappointed but my fastest time was a 10.449. My fastest speed was 58mph while revving the hell out of it. I got .50mm over bore, port and polish, milled head, full fmf exhaust and a uni filter. Gearing is 13/42 with 20 inch tires. I was wondering what other people were running? What I can do to make it faster without spending a bunch of money? I already spent a grand on the motor work alone and was getting beat by 4 strokes.

How were your reaction times? Is it getting good traction...You could have tons of power and if you cant get it to the ground it does no good...

My suggestion is to get another set of wheels with 22" tires that will increase your rollout and over an 1/8th mile it will make a big difference, it seams to me you have plenty of power your just wrapping out a little early, and also consider what Smkmup said about your reaction times it can make or break your chance of winning at least in what I do 300ft dirt drags. Ive got a question this is an asphalt dragstrip your speaking of am I right?

I'd throw that FMF pipe in the trash for starters. Get an FTZ or Shearer Drag pipe and you'll definitely notice a night and day difference! And for you times in the 1/8th....a drastic difference.... I'm running a 15/38 gearing combo. Do you know what the porting #'s are on your motor? Exhaust, transfers, intake?

This is on asphalt... My reaction times were really low... I was pulling the front wheels off the ground every time. But by 300ft. I was topped out... Where can i find a cheap rear sprocket? How much is a better pipe?

The motor runs flawlessly and shifts on a dime. But you have gearing more for top speed than mine, so I might have beat you on the line but you would have gotten me in the long run.
