Default Gas Leak

I have a gas leak from the carb and its coming out of this lower nipple type thing. what is this thing and how do i make it stop leaking gas? im thinking i need to adjust the flotes but i dont know how to do that. what am i missing or what do i need to do? thanks

my friends honda 250r atc did that, soon as you turned on the petcock it would overflow the carb, he had the carb rebuilt and it never did it again. then again the bike was sitting for 5 years when it did it. so maybe the float was stuck or something. but it was cheap to fix

how much did it cost to get rebliut and i have no idea how long this was sitting i bought it as a project. any one else know whats going on?

i think he paid 60, but the kit is like 20 if you wanna rebuild it yourself, it isnt hard, but he didnt wanna do it. that was like over a year ago. i herd you can adjust it without rebuilding it. but i figure if yoru going to get in there might as well. ill do mine soon. shoot it might leak, i just bought mine as a project also. i know when i get the motor complete and running. i know the petcock itself is leaking.

dose any one know how to adjust the flotes because im thinking thats my problem.

It's probably a piece of dirt in the needle and seat that the float pushes against. Could also be worn and needs to be replaced. This is kind of messy but....take the carb off, with the float bowl removed. Blow into the fuel line that came from the tank, with one hand move the float up and down while blowing. If you can move it all the way up and down and still blow air through it then I'd say somethings up with your needle and seat.
