welding the end back on axle

Im new to quads. Can you weld a sheared off end (Splines) back on to the axle?
Or do I need to find a used one. Its an 86' Suzuki LT250R.

i broke the same part off one of my quads welded it back on an it broke again not even a day later, it's best you find a new one ecspecially if you like going fast or jumping

It will need to be re-tempered if you weld it. And even then it might just break again. The odds of getting it straight after you grind the two ends to a point is damn near impossible. Just get a new one and save the headache.

$200 for a g force axle, or even cheaper for a used stock, or god knows how much for hospital bills when it shears off at 70mph... easy choice to me..
