Default horrible vibration

yeah....it hurts to hold the bars.... I cant really trace how long its been doing it - but i assumed it was kind of normal and now I'm realizing it isnt.

I figure either the counterbalancer gears are misaligned (im almost positive they arent) or its eating bearings somewhere inside. I know theres also some kind of dot/marking on the crank for alignment. Is this the keyway marking or was there another? if thers something else its possible i actually missed that one....

If not - how do i tell which bearing are bad? will it just be based on "oh shit that turns rough!" or is there more to look for.

I was going to tear in and redo my clutch this weekend anyway - so i guess ill get to figure this game out too. Does the case have to be split to redo the bearings?

thanks for any advice.

the zuke's are bad about the right side counterbalancer bearing getting loose in the case! unfortunatly the only way to fix this is to replace the cases! the cases stretch and the bearing is not tight in the hole anymore causing vibration and makes the cases even looser! and ALL 3 dots have to line up for the counterbalancer! get a service manual if you are not sure!! hope this helps!

My lt started to vibrate real bad when my rod bearing went out... But that could just be a worst case scenario... Its probably just something with the counterbalancer...

I've sheared the key on the counterbalance shaft 3 times. It vibrated big time! You gotta pull the clutch cover and clutch basket, then check for alignment first. Then check that key.
