NEED help from a LT250R master

Some here may know that I am a dyed in the wool Banshee owner but I need some help from someone who knows alot about LT250R's.
My buddy just bought a 1985 in factory new condition and he wants to know what kind of mods to make for trail riding, the best air filter arrangement, where to get the best deal on aftermarket parts, pipe suggestions, etc.
He also has 8 in rear rims which weren't stock so I wondered what hubs might be on there since I know the stock rears are 10's.

Trail port, eliminate the air box, K&N filter, re-jet.

What size clamp on filter do you use?
Any recommendations on pipes?
Does anyone make stainless pipes?

Trail Porting, Keep the Air box if you trail ride, for the occasional "mud holes", FMF Pipe, Uni or K&N filter, Remove air box lid, Boyseen Torque reeds, later down the line I'd get some +1 or +2 A-arms, this will hep you turning in the trails. Just run 93 octane fuel, nothing less than 91!!! This will open your quad right up, however it will still be very trailable, Hope this helps.

I would at least get the 9 or 10 inch rims. This will help your gearing thru the trails.
What size rear tires are you running...18"???
I would do 20" tires in the trails with 10" wheels, I think this is your best bet.

I wish someone made a stainless steel pipe.
I dont know of any, would problably have to be custom.
Most are chromed steel.

fmf are nickel plated so they shouldnt rust well all of mine havent rusted anywase

The Power Pros are nice pipes, but they are for the 87+ lt250r & lt500r's.
