Default coolant leak

water is leaking from some kind of little hole in the case under the water pump...what is that and why is it leaking?

Its the drain plug for the coolant I think. My lt500r had one. It sounds like you lost your drain plug!

its not the plug, its a tiny hole. i guess its time for new seals.

the mechanical seal is leaking. the best way to fix the lt waterpumps is to replace everything. seals, bolt, washers, and shaft. cost about $80 for all. if you just change the mech seal its bound to leak again prematurely

Like stated above this is your weep hole, and its a signature of a failing water pump. Replace with all new parts if you do not want to do it again soon. It really not that difficult.
