Default lots of stupid questions.

alright i think my 91 is running lean because when it sits there and idles the idle slowly climbs untill its screaming. which screew is the air screew on the carb. its the stock square slide carb and it leaks gas all over the place when it sits. i haven't messed with this quad in over a year so all my knowlege is out the window anymore. i forgot about everything i ever knew.

Another question what would be the ideal carb to replace the mikuni pos on there now? I know the pwk airstriker is a good carb but what carb out there will keep it from reving to the moon when it runs out of fuel?

No carb will prevent it from doing that. It's not the carb itself it's the lack of fuel causing the condition. The ONLY way to stop an engine from revving high for that particular reason is to NOT run out of fuel. Not being sarcastic here, just honestly answering your question.

You can either have an air leak somewhere or the needle valve in your carb is bad allowing the fuel to flow into the reed area. Those are your two main reasons for an engine to climb in RPM's on it's own. As your carb is overflowing, I'd say the valve is your problem. Simple fix.

PWK is a very good carb. So is Lecron.

check the floats in the carb if it has the same weird shit that mine has make sure the person that last took it apart put it back together right mine did the same spewed gas if left on the floats werent put in the correct spot so it just kept dumpin gas into the bowl...snd its the bottom screw the top is idle...so not the one with the spring...

okay i thought the one with the spring on it was the idle screew. and the one below that is the air screew.
