| Hello everyone just wanted to get some pics of my '86 up on here. It's not much to look at but I wish I had pics of before, it was nothing but a frame and engine and it was in pretty bad shape. Today is actually the first time I've ever ridden it. I have been slowly rebuilding it over the last 2 months or so with alot of help from this website. Alot of knowledgeable people here and I love the bike and am looking for another, although seeing all the really nice LT's on here I have alot of work ahead just tryin to make it look as nice as everyone else's. |

| I got an 85 that I bought of my wifes uncle prob 8 years ago he kept it garaged. It has the case saver thing broke off to. I had to replace the swing arm, replace bearings in the rear carrier. I still need rear brake caliper parts and rotor, I let a bud ride it and he held it wide open on the road burnt the piston. I have had it bored, boysen reeds, I also rebuilt the carb, replaced the counter gear that gave out after some HI REV draggin! The newer bikes I raced had rev limiters guess mine didnt. Its got an aftermarket pipe and arrestor not sure what kind. I also had to tear apart the case myself remove the crank and have a new rod installed and the crank was also welded up. Put it all back together with new bearings and seals. I had to do an OIT to get my bearings on my crank. I let the bearings fry in the frydaddy. Then they slip right on a cold crank if you fast. Let that cool off. Heat up the case in your oven make sure you got your seals out. And put the crankshaft and rod in the icebox. Then put it all together taking care to install the oring between the water port.Running good. Heat makes stuff bigger, and ice shrinks it! Kind like when you jump in cold water. I also bought a 86 that has been setting for a while. Fouled plugs like no other. The thing was rode hard or raced. I did ride it but shocks on front are gone. Front brakes finally quit rears dont work. It would smoke my 85. I removed motor from frame along with the keihn carb and discovered this thing has been ported and massaged. I am presently waiting on gaskets so I can install new crank seals in it, and mount it on the 85 and tear some these 4 chokes up where I live. I think I will tear the frame down and have it sandblasted and do a slow Restore on it. I need to get some pics posted on my 85 soon. And where can I find these K&N bolt ons at?

| Hi, I've been part of this site for about 7 mos. I found the info gathered from you guys to be very informative to my project. I reconfiguired the front suspension using Burgard +2, +1 a arms for an '87 and up lt and changed the mounting tabs. Then I used front shocks from a 02 400ex. I also fabricated top shock mounts to allow for the extra length shocks. To widen the rear I used 400ex hubs which with a little mod were a perfect fit. Not much done to the engine yet, board over 40, an fmf fatty pipe, dg silencer, and boyesen reeds. |
