Default 92 quadracer bearing carrier problems

I recently bought my son a 92 LT250R with the box style bearing carrier. The carrier seems to want to move around and I am constantly re-adjusting the chain. After a short time the carrier moves again and you can see a gap between the adjuster plate and the nut on the brake side adjusting stud. I tightened the four bolts to stock torque specs and even tighter but it still moves. I am reluctant to put locktite on the studs but they keep coming loose also. Is this a common problem? Is there a permanent solution or a mod or part that will help?
Thanks for your help.

Most of the 87-up carriers lose the 10mm studs they break off and strip out easily. Also when the carrier moves it wears grooves into it and they are just really sloppy when worn out.I drilled and tapped 3/4 threaded rod in my old stock carrier and it did hold up for a long time You would just need to drill 3/4 holes in the rear backing plate to pass the wider studs through. But depending on how bad its worn out you may need a replacement. You can buy a billet dual row carrier off ebay for around $180 they are extremely strong and last twice as long.

Heres a closeup pic of the 3/4 threaded rod studs.I found that this is the absolute strongest solution. I have a dual row billet carrier and drilled and tapped it with 3/4 stainless rod . http://forums.everything2stroke.com/...g?d=1209246197
