Default Please help 87?88?89? LT250r

I thought I had an 87 LT250R because of the VIN #'s, Then I recieved a diffrent 87 cylinder that is diff then the original one I have. The intake is larger and the bottem of the sleeve is diff. So now I don't know if this is the original motor. How can I tell what year the motor is. The motor numbers are J 109-105043. It is the power valve motor. Please help I want this back together asap. Would it be possible to have the 87 lower end and someone put the 88 up cylinder on???

87 88 89 90 are the same and have the same style intake.91-92 have different frames but the same intake.so 87 has its own cylinder head 88-92 have the smaller 6 bolt style cylinder.

85-86 dont have power valve , reeds in cylinder and the swingarms and frames are different.87-92 bottomend motor are the same. 87 clyinder is different from 88-92(has bigger intake and 5 bolts instead of 6) All the heads have 6 stud holes, i think the 87 is cut different though. 85-87 axels have 24 splines 88-92 have 26.87-90 frames are same 91-92 have different swingarm linkage. Yes, you can put an 88-92 cylinder on 87-92 bottom end. You will need the different intake .
