Default 85 LT250R Rear Shock Options

Ive read about the Z400 shock, but I cant find a definate answer. Is that rear shock a direct bolt-on for the 85 LT250?

What are some other choices for a rear shock for the LT?

Thanks-Dan

I don't think the z400 will work on an 85 because the mounts are different. 91-92 yes 85-90 no. Your best bet would be either buy a rebuilt one, get the one you have rebuilt / revalved etc.. a works shock, or if money is not an issue there is always elka and fox.

Where is a good place to have it rebuilt?

Are there any site sponsors that do it?

Thanks-Dan

the best options, imo, is to send it to race tech or even better to buy a works shock, they are way beefier and adjustable. I don't know how sblt does his rebuilds, i would trust him, but those two companies have years of R&D in their setups.

I think race tech was wanting 150 for rebuild and 450 for the revalve to your specs (weight, riding style, etc...). If your shock has pits in the shaft you would probably be better off getting a works
