| I melted my piston, and bottom end is shot too. Any ideas for getting me riding again this summer on a budget? I'm a decent mechanic, not scared of fabrication. Anyone put any other motors in these quads? CR 500 motor? |

| If you have a cr500 motor go for it!! Otherwise it pretty much comes down to $$$ and how good of a fabricator you are. Nelson is doing a blasty swap into his lt right now looks like a pretty simple swap and given the aftermarket available to them compared to alot of others it may be worth it. The Zilla swap doesn't look to bad either just a couple of frame mods, new motor mounts, and a pipe. tattoedup had one for sale on here not to long ago for like 180 or so. But like I said it mostly comes down to $$$ and fab skill

| Puttin a cr500 motor in anything with 4 wheels is a task best left to those that have an incurable urge to rattle their teeth out lol. Takes alot of fab work and motor mods to help the vibes. Why not just rebuild it yourself. Its not hard at all. Should cost under 500 bucks to do just about everything. I mean you are probably going to pay more than that on a motor thats in good enough shape to make it worth it.

| If you are thinking about a CR500 motor, get the crank balanced. Trust me, it is a necessity for any CR500 quad. I had a balanced crank in mine at first and it was not bad, when I had to replace the crank, I didn't balance the new one, and I really regret it. Now I have to tear the motor back apart and have it done anyway. I should have spent the extra $200 the first time. That being said, I would try to find a 'Zilla motor, they aren't as strong as the CR, but it would be less troublesome.

| yea i am putting a 240 blasty in mine the parts are everywhere and fairly cheap. weighs alot less than the lt engine. i trashed my lt250 engine also. thrust washer broke and tore up EVERYTHING. even the case was cracked where the washer weged between the crank and the case. the blaster engine was the most convinent swap for me and can make some good power. |

| My crank, rod, piston, cylinder, etc........motor is shot. Already been over-ported by previous owner, cracked between ports too. Blaster motor? Let me know if you are happy with that when it's done, cool idea. Never heard of cr500 engines being hard vibrators in quad swaps, good info. Anybody local (Washington/Oregon) with any extra running motors for sale? |

| I can say that when the lt was running i would drag my wifes blaster and we would run neck and neck. hers is stock bore ported with stroker and stock carb. my lt was pipped and jetted. i have reason to beleive when i am done with my blasty engine in my lt it will rip some ass. you can see a pick in the custom forms. nelsons lt/blaster |
