Default 86 Lt250r Engine

I have a 85 lt250r im restoring. I just got through installing new rod, piston, rings, and all new bearings in the case myself. It runs well and its stock other than the pipe etc. Well I scored a good deal on 86 lt250r that was fouling plugs like no other. I thought it was oil gas mix problem. I was wrong it appears to be crankshaft seals. I pulled the engine and noticed some odd things. I think the motor has been ported and has a non stock carb and it has some weird stuff on it. I am going to try and post some pics and let someone look and see what it is. The motor ran alot stronger than my stock 85 did would stand up and the gearing was alot higher. I think this 86 was raced some as the suspension is bad, unlike my 85 which i am the 2nd owner of.

Hum guess when I fix the crank seals and get it to quit fouling plugs, I might try to find one and see if there is any differnce. I am just glad this thing is already ported. I am tempted to pull the jug and see if they done anything to the reeds in the crankcase. But when it ran it smoked like a train and would haul butt.

Also was gone to mention on the left side of motor by left foot there is a vent coming out the crankcase on the 86 it looks jb welded shut. Should I open that up just like on my 85? And I should have checked compression but didnt. At what compression do i need to use more than just pump gas? I got another head that is polished and would like to put it on this motor but not for sure if its the same what is the easiest way to cc it and get a reading? Do you get peice of plexiglass and mount the head to it and drill hole and fill it with water to meaure the cc's?

Yea one my buds came by the shop and was looking at it. He also suggested that I pull the jug and have a peak inside the bottom end where the reeds go. I am just anxious to yank my pretty much stock 85 engine off and put this one one. I know for sure that compression is higher than my 85 looking at the head is darn sure has been milled. Hopefully I will be riding with a big ass smile this weekend. I will post some more pics soon
