Default rebuilt '86 just quit running

I just got my 1986 quadracer engine put back together and fired up for the first time after a fresh top and bottom rebuild. It fired right up after the third kick and I ran it for about 5 minutes and shut it down and let it cool down and checked for leaks and found none. The second time it started right up also and I ran it for another 5 minutes or so and shut it off, after I shut it off I noticed a little coolant coming from the cylinder base gasket on the clutch side and I tightened that nut up and ended the leak. Well I tried to start it back up later that day to show a buddy and it will not start for the life of me. I pulled the plug and it was a little wet, but it still has spark. I rebuilt the carb so it's in good shape but I did pull it apart and blow it out in case something may have gotten lodged in there and still nothing. I can't figure out why it won't start it ran great the 2 times it ran it even idled without any help from me. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?? And thanks to the help from everyone without it I wouldn't have gotten this far. Here's a pic of what it looks like right now not pretty but way better than what I started with.

Well I got it put back together after I got home and sure enough it fired right up. I was careful (or lucky) that I didn't mess up any gaskets. When it leaked it was only a couple drops of coolant hardly even enough to notice but then I opened it up and there was over a inch in the crankcase. This time I ignored the recomended torque and just tightened it as much as I could hopefully that helps. Now I need to figure out how to run the clutch cable as its right on the exhaust nothing a few zip ties won't cure though.

Did you have the case split? There is a small oring that is between the halves that keeps to coolant out of the crankcase. I put mine together and had to find one that matched before I stuck the case back together. I sealed the case with International RTV that is used on the Navistar diesels.
