| My bad you will have to remove the clutch basket. And yes those are two of the dot's that need to be aligned with the dot on the crankshaft. Take your time to make sure all three dots are aligned before you put the basket back on. Your half way done.

| Oops. I gotta remove the clutch basket anyway, I was trying to remove the nut and had a prybar in between the posts in the basket and snapped 2 of them off. Thanks for all your help! Dan |

| That sucks. I use my impact to zip the nut off the hub without holding it. If you have the pressure up enough it will come off. I did someting similar to that and broke half an ear off. If you put a penny in between the C/B gear and the crank gear it will help tighten and loosen that crank nut.

| Woops....About the counterbalancer, This is an easy fix. Just line those two dots right together, then reassmeble. Take your time on dissasembly & Reassembly to make sure you have everything right. Talk to Member "Nelson" I do believe that he has an extra basket for the 85-86 year engine.

| OK, so if there is only 2 dots do I remove and turn the counterbalancer gear or the crank gear? I dont have it apart yet, is the crank keyed or something making it only one way to go together? |
| ||||||||||||
| They are both keyed I don't see that it would matter which one you remove. The crank is a reverse thread though just something to keep in mind
