| I picked up an LT for $300, just had to fix a couple things. Now that I took it for a ride, a friend of mine who knows a bit more than I about ATVs (though he is a Honda guy) said it has some nasty vibration, and he questioned if someone had the engine apart and maybe messed up the counter balance, or is there even supposed to or not supposed to be a counter balance on this engine? Can anyone give me some info on this? Thanks-Dan |

| Just my fat fingers on my keyboard, lol. It is a 250. It vibrates really bad once it starts winding up, I rode it for a while tonite and there is no way I couldnt ride that thing for an afternoon, my hands would hurt like hell or just go numb. It really doesnt seem right, I would make some video but I'm not sure it would do much good. |

| Also, does anyone have a picture of the counterbalancer so I can see one? |

| The first thing to do is make sure the engine and exhaust mounting bolts are all tight. That stuff being loose will cause bad vibrations. The counterbalancer is in the motor right up and behind the crankshaft. There are three dots that need to be aligned. One on the crankshaft itself, gear mounting on crankshaft and the dot on the balancer itself. If these dots are not lined up it will vibrate also. I know because I only aligned two of the three after my rebuild. You can check it yourself by draining the oil and coolant then the right side engine cover.

| Thanks man, I will check it all out. |

| OK, I pulled the side cover off, which of these is the balancer? Im gonna assume its the one on the end of the crankshaft, and to align the 3 dots I need to remove the clutch basket? ![]() ![]() |

| Just from looking at the pic it looks like the balancer wasnt aligned rights. I dont have a manual handy, but I assume those dots need to be linged up.

| I'm guessing I need an impact wrench to remove the nut holding on the clutch basket? Dammit.... |

| Are these 2 of the 3 marks that should be aligned to each other? ![]() |
