Default water pump mech seal?????

ok so i still have that damn water leak.....i pulled off the side cover and got the pump shaft out.......how do i get the mech seal out? even though it is a new one im gonna replace it and see if it was/is the problem. anyone?? thanks in advance.............man i wanna ride!

do you mean the side the impeller is on? that little metal cylinder thing that the spring goes around? or the inside of the engine cover? thanks!

If its like the LT500 I had to chisel it in and cave it to get it out.. Really tight though. Install with a socket the same size..

this is why they leak. people do shit like this and then blame it on a shoddy design. when yuor trying to pry up the metal edge you ding up the sealing surface of the case and a new seal won't do anything to fix the fuck up. i have seen a bunch of cases like this from hackers trying to get the seal out. its the wrong way.

there should be no point where your prying out the seal from the front of the cover. it has to be pressed out from the inside, as to not mark up the sealing surface. a little heat helps to loosen the seal if it happens to be stubborn
