Default Space between circlips and piston pin? WTF

I just installed a piston and there is a gap like .5 to .75 mm allowing the piston wrist pin to slide back and forth between the circlips. It's huge. The piston I just took off does not have this condition. I order the right pin for '87 but the piston is 87cheap old stock off ebay from White Bros. and possibly custom.

I dont think this is right and dammit it is stalling my project again.

So very little gap would be correct?

OK checked wiseco info and this 87 S513 wrist pin is actually longer than 88-92 S484. Wiseco piston.

The one I am replacing may be stock OEM. I just want to make sure because of the difference I am seeing between the two

These 1987 style pistons suck. Found a Wiseco page of instructions to drill holes for oil lubrication to the exhaust bridge on the intake side.

I measured the 87 and 88-92 piston and in conclusion: If you have an 87 top just buy 88-92 piston like Pro-Lite.

Anybody know anything about the Pro-X Single Ring High Dome piston for race only? Nevermind this was posted already.
