value of 89 250r

i have a freind that is in need of money and is looking to get ride of his 89 lt250r for 400 bux, but the quad is not running, he said he was riding it and it just quite. not sure why seems to have compression and he says it had spark...


is this thing still worth the 400 dollars?

any ideas on what might have caused it to just quite? claims its got spark, but i unpluged the ignition today and it didnt seem to have spark

Sounds like you beter just let me buy it it would be beter for both of us. HA HA It sound like a hell of a deal unless the bike just came bake from the depths of hell and is a shell of it's former self. Even then at $400 you could stick some cash into it and still have a nice quad. Hell you can buy it for $400 and I'll give you $500 for it if your anywhere near my location. Quick $100 bucks for you

well from the responses i guess i cant go wrong with the price, im just worried as to what made it quite, i havent had a chance to look at it myself, but was told it has good compression and had spark, but it didint seem to have any sparkage when i was there, wasnt suppose to have made any funny noises when it quite, just died. im thinking the pickup sensor, or stator coil, guess i wont be able to tell untill its in my posession and i can test out the ignition system...
