Default question about the clutch

hi, i just picked up an 87 lt250r. I'm having a problem with the clutch. I can't get it to do anything. All the plates are there and look to be in good shape. I looked at a schematic and I am not missing any parts. One thing i did notice is that when i pull the lever in, i can see the clutch cover flexing. Is this normal? and has anyone had this problem? I can't wait to ride this thing, it seems like a rocket. I took it down my street in first gear and almost fell off the back of the thing cause i wasn't ready. thanks

flexing out or in? if the clutch is not engaging i would say the clutch arm on top of the case is being pulled too much. if its not disengaging the arm may not be moving back far enough, ie. cable is too tight or its on the wrong notch on top of the case.

well you have something wrong. the cover shouldn't flex at all. your going to have to pull the clutch cover again and check it over.
