| well its(F.irst M.ajor F.*&kup) a big time national conglomerate company that makes pipes for damn near every bike and atv since the early 80's so it is not hard ot see that they lack the specialized R&D to really tune and define premium performance from each partiucular machine like the small custom shops do as far as dyno and track testing and various engine building applications . compared to stock fmf is a nice gain ,of coarse this varys depending on models ...on some bikes it only makes a tad over stock some machines its a big improvment ,regardless theres better choices but non so available as FMF is. for an lt500 or lt250 it is probably only a tad better than stock, maybe a couple hundred rpms wider power and 1 or 2 horses over stock

| my thinking is- you get what you pay for. There is a reason that other pipes are much more expensive |

| FMF is an aftermarket production pipe. For your average Joe looking for an aftermarket pipe better than stock, It's for you. For the person who has extensive mods to their motor , It's not beneficial! The FMF pipe is basically a "universal" aftermarket pipe!

| On the LT500R the FMF pipe is more show than go. looks great....not a big performance booster though on the zilla. Also quite pricey. If your just looking for a small bump in performance on a relatively stock quad, as in only bolt on stuff and no porting or anything, then the FMF will do you just fine, but if your looking for the big power gains then your going to want to look elsewhere for a pipe.

| I got fmf fatties on mine, I would like to buy new ones, but 600 bucks for the Toomey's is going to have to wait. I could stroke it for that, so I'm going to hang onto them until they wont let my motor run. Plus I like the sound of mine, I rode with a dude with t6s, and mine sounded better. Plus I don't know how much more of a gain it would be, I got bigger carbs coming in the mail, so I'm going to see how they breathe with them.
