| The rings might have folded. Just a guess.

| Sounds like a cold seizure, did you let it warm up first? From my experience the LT500 is cold blooded, and especially if you had a weisco piston in there, they will tend to expand faster than the cylender when cold and put under a load too fast. (aka hop on and ride fast as soon as you start it - big no-no)

| You might have sucked a reed. You might have a piece or the reed stuck between the piston and cylinder. Pull the reed cage and look. you need to pull the jug anyway.

| Pulled it apart last night and part of the bottom of the piston broke off and fell into the crank case. A piece of the aluminum wedged itself between the case and crank. Lucky it was at idle when it happened. Everything else looks great, guess I'll clean it out and throw a new piston and rings in it. Thanks for everyone's input!! What usually causes a piston to break on the bottom?!?

It could be a fluk piston problem. But I would check your bore size and the piston size. To much slop in between can cause the piston skirt to slap the side of the cyinder wall and break it off. As stated above make sure it is warmed up. High revs on a cold motor can cause piston slape also. That big of a piston will expand alot when it is warmed up. Just my .02, Apher
