Reason why it's leaning out is you have reduced the restriction at the exhaust which allows more air to come in and requires more fuel. If you don't adjust to allow for more fuel then you will have a lean issue. Sound like you need to turn-out the idle mixture screw a turn. The manufacture should beable to give you a good idea how far the mixture screw should be turned out.
