| You might have a bad crank seal on the transmission side. Does it smoke a lot when you try to clear it out?

| not any worse than usual....which is almost none after its warmed up. All seals were replaced about 40 ride hours ago, and the crank bearing bosses were sleeved by CT racing. Also, just for my own piece of mind, I went out and tore the plastic and tank off and tested the compression. When the motor was fresh and not broken in it was at 125 psi, right now its at 135 psi. Low, yes I know, but I have yet to have the head shaved/rechambered since my porting was done. Still shits and gets when it runs right....haha It acts like its a jetting problem, but I don't see how it can be fine early in the season, and now its rich as all hell. Temperatures have gone back and forth before now, and it ran fine till a couple days ago. Maybe I'm looking at an intermittent ignition problem??? I also switched to AV100LL fuel earlier in the season.

| check the coil ,stator ..maybe a loose ground spark plug cap needs trimmed .... sounds like a problem i n the electrical system if its intermittent like that .if yo u need a new coil get a Nology high output coil with profire wires .

| Moisture on the stator will cause those symptoms. So will a missing metering needle clip, though it obviously won't run right until replaced. An arcing coil wire........a dirty coil connection (pos or neg).......A POS NGK X plug.......Sand or flaky rust on the flywheel (highly doubt thats your particular problem)........A loose pick-up coil (again, remote).......poor or loose source coil connection (creates poor ground). It's likely a small but irritating to find problem.

| thanks again guys. I un-taped the wiring harness (the whole damn clusterfuck) and searched for sub-par looking wires tonight and found none. I'm betting that the factory splices in the ground wire (black/white tracer) could be the source of problems sometimes too. What a mess that is... I'll pull the stator cover tomorrow and have a look-see.
