Hi Guys, need some help with trail tires on this thing (87 ZILLA). I ride tight trail systems (bull gap, rose city, Mio, Kalkaska ect) with some sand some mud and hard ground I have holeshots there 20’s but I bottom out on my swing arm skid plate im thinking of going to 22x11x10 mud lites, any sugestions? I need to keep it narrow as well we all know it’s a beast and hard to handle on tight tracks my twist throttle don’t help either lol, but I do need the clearance over the ruts!

I have 22" xct holeshots on my zilla. I ride similar terrain with ruts and narrow trails. The zilla is the only ATV IMO that can wear the 22" and not look odd. It did wonders for my swingarm skid plate....and my powdercoat frame. I rarely make the face you make when you think your gonna tag something hard under there anymore. Also gave me a bit more top end I was looking for. Matter of preference i guess. Top heavy feeling was not anymore of an issue when I made the jump in size on tire. Hope this helps. I could take a pic of it with my 22" if it helps. Let me know

i run 22's all around. it only looks stupid when the front tires are 20's. the rear tire shouldn't be bigger then the front. i still bottom out with the 22's. Last edited by sblt500r; 09-02-2007 at 12:48 AM.

| I run 22's as well and still bottom out. But I don't bottom as much as with 20's. I also went with 23.5's on the front as it DID look goofy as hell with bigger rear than fronts.

Thanks guys, that’s probably what ill do is go with 22’s and 23’s but probably 22’s on the back for the rest of the season then put the bigger tires on the front by next year (money issues) has ny one ever used those mud lites? Are they any good on trails there cheap for that size just over 50 a tire wile hole shots are 100 a tire btw some one asked what my clearance was its 4in from bottom of skid to the ground ive thought about removing the skid plate but ive seen pics of others swing arms that don’t look ny thing like mine and have no skid they look like they have more clearance and yea kane I do ok for the most part but another inch or 2 id have a lot less problems there’s nothing worse then dragging a skid and getting stuck going up hill looking like my zilla wont make it while riding with a bunch of 3 wheelers that are flying up it!
