I wasn't bashing him at all. I don't know why you took it that way. I've got a lot of Q parts, and have no problem with him whatsoever. I'm having a hard time understanding how you got took my comments to be a bash against him? Just because I would buy a different carb WTF man?

I'm kindof new around here, so I've missed most of the pissing matches I guess. This just seems to be an awfully sensitive subject, for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Dont let it get ya man, this is always like beating a dead horse, and calling you out is the last resort. Its like a broken record

Erbe, I'll take that hill challenge. But before you tell me to come out there, like always, lets get some Q bikes at Quadfest. I wont be the only guy there who wants to see if their machine will run with a "Q built" machine. There may even be some compition from a machine with half the cc's there I'd put my money on (shhhhh, hahaha).

You deliberately attempted to discredit his work by insinuating he doesn't do it. He is soon to have it Rxed by his trained techs, meaning this summer, you know it has not happened yet. Thats a bash if i have ever heard one. Seems kinda two faced that you run some of his parts then try to discredit his work on an open forum. Either that or your trying to fit in with full tilt who probably has no Q parts yet takes a swing at him at every opportunity.

Q doesnt chime in because its a waste of his time, his works been proven time and time again. You need proof meet him at Zillathon. The surge in recent LT enthusist is owed to the only person still investing time in zilla R&D. Hes bringing a 20 year old legend back to life. The reason some people cant grasp that .... Envy.

I hope you guys do meet up for a Q standoff some day. That might open some closed minds.

Im sorry I wasted my time typing all of this, normaly I dont buy into this childish net drama, but its getting old coming here and seeing it over and over and over. SO im out of this site for a while.. Later.

Also, what about the FTZ Modified Mikuni 39/41.5mm taperbore carb? Anyone have any input on this one? I noticed you can pick one up for around $220.
How about we get the post back on track? I believe the topic was carb info???

Anybody have any input on the items above?

I got my used PWK today. There seem to be some PWK fans out there, so how about some input. Should I leave it stock and give it a try as is or should I have it bored? If so, where should I send it for mods and what should it be bored to?

What about the FTZ carb? FYI, this is not a used carb. It is a brand new carb with taperbore and mods (whatever that means).

In terms of the whole carb argument, why just settle on one? You might as well try a few and judge for yourself which works the best for your machine ... that's what I'm attempting to do. You can always auction them off afterwards or sell them on the forums. I definitely want to try a Rx carb but I also want to try the PWK and Lectron. Of course, an Rx carb seems to be a ways off so I have also been eyeing the FTZ carb.

By the way, someone was telling me that the Mikuni 38mm Flatside that was used on the Zillas was not the typical stock Mikuni TM38SS Flatside. I know the 87 carb was odd but I thought the 88-90 carbs are stock Mikunis? Anyone know?

Thanks,
SZ

FTZ does their own modification to kehien and mikunni carbs. I have a 38 mikunni that has ftz alky conversion. They make good alky carbs. The 87 carb is pretty much junk. The 88 and up were better units

I do not knock Q every chance I get. In fact, look back through some of the lt threads. I have complimented on his stuff and pointed people in his direction on more than a few occasions. Of course Im not afraid to let anyone know my thoughts of him either. I just spout off when egos start getting big and reality is being pushed to its limits.

Does the PWK 39mm come in a Quadvent version or is it only the 38mm Airstriker?

Mine is similar to the one below except it does not have the two vents that are pointing upward? I assume I have the standard model, which is the only one available in the 39mm size ... is this correct?

It came with a 185 main jet ... is this a good place to start on a zilla with a relatively stock motor with a Q pipe and V2 reeds?

40.5mm is about max for a PWK. That's the full width of the slide. Any larger and it will have to be step bored.
