What do you think ... run it stock or should I have it bored before I put it on? I think Duncan does their Carb Boring and Super Flow Mod for about $90. I also need to get a new cable, which is about $20. I appreciate the input.

| I bought my PWK from a guy that bought it from Duncan and it has Duncan's super flow mod. It's nearly new. The carb looks killer. The guys at Duncan do nice work. So I can't tell you if it really runs any better than a stock PWK 39. The guys that claim to have 41.5mm PWK's are either wrong or have step/taper bored carbs. Either that or the carb has been bored with a through hole that is bigger than the slide. My 40.5 kisses the outer edges a little. I wouldn't think that boring larger than the slide would be a good idea, but anyone with a lathe or boring bar for a mill can bore the hole however big they want, whether it works right or not. So I suppose the possibility exists that there are some 41.5's out there, but I can't see where it would be good to have it bored larger than the slide, if ya know what I mean. | damn things escalated quick over here on this thread. Give Q a call and and other respected builders. Look in to the Rx'ed 42.5 carb, then see about the 44mm mikuni then look into a lectron. Its up to you to decide who's word you can take on which carb is better. They are all decent carbs IMO. The Q carb is cheap and I'm sure its great, the 44mm Mikuni is cheap and good for more top end oriented, and the lectron is state of the art carb technology. the choice is yours man.
