Default Clutch

Well, I was tuning in the zilla on the alky today and come to find that the clutch is not up to snuff. Pulls hard from second through about half way through 4th, then it slips bad. Shift from 4th to 5th and its like I didnt even shift, just winds right up.

What's the best clutch setup for my zilla? Denny, do you have a "prolock" kit figured out for a zilla?

I bought a Tusk kit from Rocky Mountain and haven't had any issues with slipping yet. It was $50 shipped to my door also.

i got a barnett dirt digger when the oem failed and i even used is for asphalt drags without slipping so i'm pretty sure any aftermarket is way better than factory. little harder to pull the lever now but thats a good thing

Its all aftermarket. Hinson basket, not sure on clutch plates but they are in good shape. Just cant handle the alky. Im thinkin rdz hd springs, unless rjatv and flotek come up with something.

I have heard good things about the Barnett Heavy Duty Springs. They are beefier than most of the aftermarket springs that claim they are heavy duty. I just got a set to try on mine. As you can imagine, the track kit is damn hard on the clutch.

Here is the part number for the springs only.

Barnett P/N 501-40-06027 (old part p/n MT-27-6)
