Default Stuff that swaps out

Thinking about doing an article on what swaps with what on the LT 250/500 quads. What have you done, swapped or modded to fit, on your 250/500? Like using the hubs from an LTZ/KFX/DXV 400 on your 250/500......what rims you've found from other machines that fit......stuff like that. Maybe you had to mod it a little to get it to work, maybe it was modded a lot, maybe it just dropped right on. Post what you know. Help me write something up we can all use.

370 has a lot of info on the LT swaps like swingarms and such. I always wondered if the ne LTZ parts would swap over but it is hard to find out. Good idea for an article though

Thats a hard one. If they did, that would be cool as hell. Make updating an old beast a heck of a lot easier.

I know LTZ400 rear hubs will fit on a 1992 LT250. It gives you more wheel and tire options. I like the 9 inch rims a lot better than the 10 inch ones.

The steering stem bushings are interchangable also.

ok for the Lt250Rs all swing arms from 85-89 swap.. also axles from 85-92 swap.. but theres a catch.. 88-92 hubs and axle are 26 spline (LT500Rs also) and teh 85-87 are 24 spline (swap with banshee) also all LT250 plastic will swap around. the 85-86 seat will work on all later models as well as 87-92 seats fit fit 85-86 models. the low profile maier plastic will only work with the 85-86 seat... there is more also.. i'm almost positive that 85-89 rear shocks swap. and a arms also.. i know they all use the same ball joint..

for zillas they use the same conecting rod and intake as a 250.. but 87's will only fot 87's..

people alwasy say "i have a lt500R intake on my lt250" i liek to say

so you still have a stock intkae then.... the onlt differenece is if you want a biggercarb on your 250 you can use teh rubber part of the intake form a Lt500R to accept the bigger carb but... reed cages are the same..

ok heres soemthing else i picked up in my travels believe it or not but wheels form honda odesseys are teh same bolt paternt as 85-86 LT250Ras also.. theres more i just can't remember it all.. oh yeah i believe the powervavle actuator and govener are the same on both the 250 and 500... thumb throttle assemblys are also the same

After looking thru various sites, I've found a few items. 370 mentioned some. The 250/500 flywheels of all years will interchange, though you may wish to avoid the 87 500 flywheel if it hasnt been welded or re-rivited. I'm still looking into it.....but the front calipers will suppossedly interchange from the 230S, Mojave, Lakota 300, and a couple others. This is only what I found on another site. I'm going to check the caliper swap as soon as I can dig the entrance of the warehouse open. Its pretty snowed in.

As I said, I got the info off another site. I have a 250 flywheel at the warehouse, I'll check it out to make sure.
