Default AirBox Problems

Short and sweet.... I'm having problems with fitting an airbox back up to my 87lt250r and i was wanting to go to a clamp on filter... prolly a k&n with an outerwear so i can run in the sand and not have to worry about shit getting in my motor... i'm having trouble finding places that sell the clamp on filters, I was hoping somone could help me out with my problem....

Just go to your dealer and tell him you want a k&n and want the clamp on type filter. They should be able to hook you up with one. Or you can do like 370 said and look in dirt wheels and find one.

Look in a DennisKirk magazine, or you can go to their website. I would swear by UNI but maybe you like K&N they have both of them in there. To route mine from the carb, i went to a local hardware store and asked for a rubber ferncoe, and they come in all sizes so you need the diameter of ur carb and inside diameter of the filter you want, anyways they are a rubber flange with a hose clamp at each end. Then I just used a 45 deg. PVC angle to angle my filter in behind the shock in the location of my nonexistant airbox, and clamped the filter to that. Look at that mag cuz they have a bunch of clamp on filters, and if you go my type of setup, jus ask a local hardware store for a ferncoe.
