Default Lonestar swingarm

Does anyone know the big differences between a no link and link rear suspensions for the zilla. I am looking at 2 swing arms and dont know which one would be better to have Lonestar or Bugaurd?

I asked this in a previous thread somewhere and I was told it saves about 4-5 pounds and increases your ground clearance.

I think there has to be more to it than that because that float should easy the suspension hits a little.

Anyone out there have any ideas???

You need a different shock for the different setups. A no-link swingarm puts more force directly into the shock and needs a stronger setup, while a link setup creates less force by shifting the angle of the shock. The further back you have the bottom of the shock mounting the more torque the swingarm can apply. Does that make sense?

There is a little more to it with the change in trajectory that the link creates, but I don't totally know how to explain it easily. Unmount your shock one day and move your swingarm up and down while looking at the way it moves and picture how your shock would move.

I'm never very good with words. I'd be able to show you the difference but my grammar skills are lacking. I think I'd choose the link setup, but I'm no expert, not in the least

The link allows more suspension travel with less shock travel length. I always think of shit once I'm done.

It sounds like a fat ass like me should go with a link swing arm because my works shock gets enough abuse as it is. Does anyone know who else besides Bugaurd that makes a link swing arm?

laeger makes them also. i have a burgards. it took a long time to get it, and had crappy powdercoating, but the swingarm itself is holding up to mx abuse.
