Question Well i think something is wrong!

Well i cut a few good size holes in the air box and went riding today. It really helped alot. I could feel a throttle response. But any way, i was riding and hit a good size puddle, and it rode good after that for a while and then out of nowhere it felt like it lost spark! I tried to kick it over and man it felt like there was no compression what so ever. I am not sure were to start on trouble shooting but if it comes down to it i might have to do a 300 kit.

I have had that problem with mine. I took the top off of my airbox. Try pull starting it down the road with another quad or a car. It should start up in a few seconds. You might just need to work the water out of the system. Have you checked your plug to see if you are getting spark or not?

If theres no compression then that means either a ring let go or you burn a hole in the piston. But Just by cutting holes on the airbox lid. I've been running no air box lid for awhile. In order to get that much water into the motor you almost have to submerge it. What's your mixture at? -Mark

did you rejet??? if your topend was a bit weak anyway the lean condition would crapped it the rest of the way. anyway could be alot but if your compression sucks i'd point my finger at a topend either ring broke or a shitted out slug. did you check for spark??? just wondering if you have spark

hoe little compression do you have. can you flop the kickstarter around with your hand??? if so it's f*ckerooed. i weould say grab a wiseco and while you have it apart get it ported. actually check out FTZ they have a cool setup for 87-92 lt's thats a ported cyl. and uses a repinned YZ250 piston and has a custom FTZ head mod. they say it'll keep with a mild shee taht way. it costs like $425 if you send your cyl. as a core

yeah i can move it with my hand. its screwed. My bike smokes shes by a couple of bike lenghts now. it was smokin a yzf450 with cam, pipe, filter, and jetted. i have a wiseco that is 80 over i will probably use. LRD built my motor and ported the shit out of it. So do you guys think that going from 50 over to.80 over will make a big diffrence?

Probably not a whole lot of a difference there, personally if it was mine, and it was already 50 over, I'd only bore it as far as necessary, getting too big with the oversizes is eventually asking for trouble. I guess if you had a spare jug laying around you could go for it though.
