| hey all, I just did the following mod's, tell me if it's worth it... started with an 86' LT 250 bone stock never bored, factory tires, ran great etc....(wife'd bike with under 50 hours...still factory everything ...even sprockets) Put in larger jets for the carb, 2 custom air windows in the airbox {1dracing}, new pipe FMF power core fatty, new silencer, same as pipe, new piston and rings, .20 over, wiseco, head mill 10 thousands, custom port job (VERY good porting) from a race shop, g3 reeds and cage (1dracing), rear axle spacers for another 4 inches, fat new turf tamers for tires, oiled and lubed all and changed brake pads, new intake filter etc... this bike runs like a beast!!!. stop at the bottom of any hill and drive up it no prob,, pulls hard through fifth with a steady power band in all gears. I have over 2,500 in it. is it worth that if i wanted to sell? 6 hours on rebuild and runs awesome! |

just wanted to leave plenty of room for future upgrades if safe. (I was recommended not to go past 10 thousands) I must say from the looks of the clearance of piston at Top stroke, I don't know if it wasn't the right choice..... still has multiple rebuilds to go if needed, not to mention everything else is perfect (garage kept) not much more I can do but bigger carb and bore...... but this is PLENTY fast for ANY trails! |

don't get me wrong, i'm not talkin shit...... I don't know what mod's did what cause i did them all at once. all i can say is (if i were to compare it to a rotary or turbo) there is no more power burst in rpm's, but then the biottom end sucked before the mod's... now, it's just HARD ass power all through the power band!!!! and i saw a 400 the other day (new one), and he didn't even want to line up.....used his girlfriend as an excuse........ i just know that 400 has 100-200 lbs on me and i will kill him up till 5th unless he has aftermarket gears...cause i have stock gears with plenty of room on top end should i re-gear..... |
