Frame painting

I just got my lt250 frame back from the welder (125.-). I was planning on having it powdercoated but would like to save some money. Any suggestions for spray painting the frame? I am going to use self etching primer and I was thinking about using high heat engine paint (ford blue??). Is that a durable paint? Really need some advice. Thanks

if you really want it to last you should get it powdercoated. In the long run it is not that much more expensive.

oh yeah PC doesn't chip liek paint and it's nto as expensive as you might think. ask around you'll fine the guy that does it in his garage for next to nothing. i on the othr hand am still trying to get that guys amn nuber. i head of him now i just need the mother f*ckign hook up. haha oh yeah the last frame cost me $180 which is still pretty good

I'd go out and get yourself the PJ1 factory paint color. We spray painted the Tecate 3 frame thick with kawasaki green and put a gloss coat overtop. It's going to wear off just like powdercoat does so screw it.

I was thinking about PCin my frame a gloss black. East Coast ATV (near me) does it for 150 clean or 200 unclean.

thats not a bad price at all.

Here's a link with their prices and colors. Not bad and it's only about 30 minutes from me. I used to wash trucks a few miles away from there.

I just got my swinarm back from Powder Coating, I had it done white With a Clear Coat for $23.00. Good deal Huh! Check the thread "So Clean" and ill have some more pictures soon.
