atvracing is an unknown quantity at this point
Default lt250r Loud

When I let the LT250r get dry, and when it first starts up, it get really loud. For example, gas has to be in the carb in order for it to do down a good amount. But when it sits idel it gets really really loud.

Would a silcencer make a difference? It is a stock one?

Thanks.

First off, "get dry" does this mean there is no gas in the carb? Or the quad is dry (not wet)? Now when you say loud, does the engine increase in RPM's? And last but not least, the silencer has to do with exhaust back pressure coensiding with the expantion chamber. I do not think this would have anything to do with the engine getting louder if it was running quieter first, however i could be wrong. See what some one else has to say.

I had a powercore 2 on my 125 for the longest time and it would never run right. I bought a brand new titanium2 and put it on and switched to maxima castor 927 and the oil soaked the silencer packing that now it dosetn silence it basically at all. The bike runs better than it ever did with the pc2 and nobody cares about the loud because my neighbor rides with me and the other neighbors are 5 miles away .

Try repacking your sliencer if your bike is louder than it was. Maybe when your carb is "dry" by what you say, the motor is running lean which makes it pick up rpms. If thats the case adjust your inlet screw or adjust your floats.

I have a PowerCore2 silencer on my Zilla, and I tell you what, it is louder than all heck. If I ride at a place that does sound testing, I'm gonna have to do soomething with it, theres no way its gonna pass. Its gotta be twice as loud as a shee with toomeys on it. I'm thinking about picking up a Turbine Core silencer, they are supposedly a lot quieter. I don't really mind if I lose a little powerwise, truth be told, I may pick up a little on the bottom end, which is fine by me, I'm a big fan of low-end grunt.
