| To tell the year of your machine look at the 10th letter/number on your frame, it will be stamped behind your footpeg. H is 87, J is 88, K is 89, L is 90, and so on. There are a lot of 87's out there, they are just slightly different, for instance a different reed cage and reeds. You just have to look in the right places to find parts for the 87's besides your local dealer ![]() Ebay is a good spot to find used and some new parts, Rocky Mountain ATV, Parts Direct, Moto-Man they all sell parts for the 87 and other years of the Quadracers. Good Luck, if you need to know other differences I am sure there is someone else on here that can tell you more of them.

| To tell the year, you got to cut the frame in half and look at the number of rings there are in the tubing. Its the exact opposite of a tree. Instead of having more rings per year, the rust takes away layers. Most start with 20 rings, so if you only have 2 left, then its 17 years old, therefore a 1987. Don't listen to me, i'm just feeding ya a bunch of B.S. lol. P.S. I meant 3 years left, its late here and i am about to hit the hay.

hahaha yeah "the fast bastard year" is more like it. wanna hear my take on this??? yeah well your gonan hear it anyway. haha long logn ago in a decade far far away. people had hair styles liek the mullet. they liked colors liek hot pink and neons orange. cars had the power of golfcarts and were teh size of small barges. gas was cheap as were cigarettes. and it was a decade of peopel "comming down" for the major drug of the 70's haha. then one day a miracle happend in august 4th 1982... but back to the story..... suzuki brought out the LT250R in 85 and beign it was the first quad on the market they really had no competition until 86 when teh TRX250R came out. so suzuki skated the 86 model year with the nonpowervalve lt250r. but..... they had a monster in the works for 87 (or so they thought) . now suzuki did beat out the honda for top speed and peak HP. but..... they didnt figer in 2 things. the banshee and the tecate4 haha. well the shee adn T4 inalated teh LT250R and suzuki gave up tuend the quads down for 88 and said "fuck it they can be all around quads now but at least we stuck it to honda!! hahaha". and yamaha and kawisaki lived happily ever after haha |

| oh yeah in 88 kawaski f*cked up stopped production of the T4 and fell of teh map for many many years. honda followed suit in 89. adn ahvent; made a quad since. suzuki held on til 92 then dumped teh LT250 (lt500 was scraped in 90) and yamaha skated until present day with the al mighty banshee. the others well......... honda and suzuki went on to make very unappelaing cars while kawisaki well........ they make a badd ass sport bike the ZX10 other than that well.. those companies suck now. especailly honda for the fact that they still make claims back to teh 250R they so hanusly gave up on. they have yet to make another quad and should stick to making cheap cars that are ugly. end of story... |
