| lean on fuel on the bottom end, i forget which jet richens the bottom end or is it the needle? someone else can tell you for sure |

| Found it. Both the pilot air screw and pilot jet affects carburetion from idle to around 1/4 throttle. |

| yea but if it is the stock lt carb it is junk. All the lts i have had never idled right so i just put a aftermarket carb on and now i have no problem

| I have 38 mm pwks.The quad ran fine up untill recently.Maybe the colder weather but i dont understand why it will idle for a little bit and then die...

| your pilto si to small for teh cold weather. also LT's are hard to start alot of times anyway especailly the 85 and 86. get ahold of suzuki_lt250R or lt250racer these guys know the trick to and easy starting LT soethign bout half a float bowl of gas or something. those inside teh jug reeds kinda pool gas or something and are hard to start soethings is i thnk what they were saying. anyway get ahold of one of those jokers and they'll let you in on teh secret. if they don't i'll ban there asses haha just kiddign they are both really cool guys. |

| I don't know what is wrong with it. My LT that I had was fine. All I had to do was choke it and on the first or second kick it would fire right up. I would have to say it is because of the cold weather.

| Secret huh...When ever i cannot start my quad i usally hop on my left foot around the quad counterclockwise three times......and then it starts right up.

| But really, I dont have this problem, maybe because ive never started my quad in the winter. But make sure you have the correct jetting. Unsteady idle, and runs good in all other RPMs, it could be a small air leak. Have you ever preformed a leak down test? I would take the carb off and take a look at the pilot jet too, make sure taht it is not all gummed up.

| Im afraid it may be an air leak!!!Whats the easiest way to check.The weird thing is how it has to be wide open to start.If i did this b4 it would flood the hell outta it.Would an air leak mess with compression..HHHMMMM!!!Hard to start cold and idles fine and wont idle when warmed up......Back in the garage!!!
