Tracy's are $777.00 per set IF you get them over the counter. I can sell new for 650.00 +shipping if you talk real nice ....But you have to weight the options new or rebuilt.....

Damn that really sucks. Eviltwin had a very cool idea about putting a kx500 or cr500 motor in it!

LOL But the vibration is just F@cking terrible Been there done that in a 250R Frame It runs like a raped ape but will wear you out like no tomorrow .....We ran it on the flat track you were good for about 8 out of 10 laps and then you get to the point that your hands go numb....Couldn't keep mounts in it It vibrated every nut and bolt loose That motor is now back in my KX....

That sounds like it would help a little. Still if i was riding something that fast, vibration is the last thing i'd be worrying about!!

Rubberized motor mounts can only do so much. Me and a few friends back in the day put a go-kart together for a school project with a CAN-AM 400 motor in it and it vibrated pretty bad. We got even ballsier after the project was graded and put a yamaha IT-490 motor in it and that vibrated the 2 main supports for the motor right off so we beefed it up and it broke the motor mounts, fixed them then the pipe bolts vibrated out. If your going to ride it alot its not worth the abuse on you and going thru every nut and bolt on your bike every single ride to make sure soemthing dosetn fall off.

I know I'm asking for more trouble, but I'm just gonna fix the Zilla engine. I put my mustang wheels on e-bay tonight, so hopefully they'll sell, and that coupled with my tax return shoud have me sitting pretty as far as fixing it goes, wheter I have to buy cases or not. I'm gonna look into having my current broken cases welded, and then machined for new crank bearing sleeves. if the price even comes remotely close to 600 bucks I'm just gonna get new ones.

I'd think about a motor swap if the rest of the quad wasn't as beautiful as it is. I wanted a quadzilla, so I'm gonna keep a quadzilla. Its not worth the trouble anyways with all the fabrication I'd have to do. BUt it does give me an idea for the extra zilla frame I have haha, someday...

If you wanted to by a used zilla engine you could also try east coast atv, they have used engines in stock for most machines (not sure about the Zilla), they range in price based on condition and model, usually in the 1000$ range unless you want a racing engine. They are located in PA and their website is www.eastcoastatv.com/ just a thought as it may be cheaper to by another complete engine and then over time repair your's for a spare, they will let you know the condition and you can make a well informed purchase to prevent possibly getting ripped off by a bad seller on ebay. If you go this route you are better off calling versus e-mailing them as you will get a much quicker response.
Good luck!!

OK here is what you really have to weight out. To get both cases machined and inserts done your looking at $170 a case so total $340. Then your looking at getting aluminum welded and your tolking good money for an aluminum welder. I really don't have a guess at what it would cost but lets say $150 just for shits and giggles. So now your about $500 into old beat up cases. You can buy new from Flattrack for $650 its only $150 more and if you think the cases in the zilla have held up for many years and they are just getting old and fatigued. My money is on new cases.

As for buying another motor it is a good option but your still buying into 18 year old cases and cylinder. Anything that old is bound to have issues.

The idea of putting a KX500 or CR500 motor in it is a good idea but it won't really be a Zilla at that point. It would be like a bastard child. Don't get me wrong I like the idea of swaping motors around but if you want a zilla stick with the motor you got.

I am thinking of getting a CR500 or KX500 and putting the motor in the ATC frame. However we are only going to use it as a dragster so vibration is not a big deal.
