are you talking about an aftermarket tether, or the factory kill switch?

if its an aftermarket, it will be easiest to take the front plastic and gas tank off it, you can probably do it with it on, but you'll be cussing a lot. the wire on the box side of the kill switch goes to the positive side of the ignition coil. It should be a black wire with a white stripe, but don't hold me to it. pull the positive wire off the coil (spade connector) and slide off the little rubber boot. Solder the wire from the tether onot the spade where the facorty wire is connected, put the boot back on, and reconnect the coil. Then take the wire coming from the sliding part of the tether, and find a suitable ground from a nearby bolt. The top steering stem bushing clamp should work OK. Cut the wire to length - make sure its not too tight so you don't pull it off when you turn the bars all the way in either direction. Crimp on a ring terminal and bolt it to your ground. CHA-CHING!!

Positive voltage goes into the coil, and also goes into the tether switch. when you pull out the clip on the tether, it sends the positive voltage to ground because the electricity follows the path of least resistance, and shuts off the bike.

The factory switch works the same way, but it gets its ignition signal from the CDI i believe. if your looking for the factory stuff, I can look in my manual and tell you what to do.

dubs LT is an unknown quantity at this point
Default LT250 also

It sounds like you can t get it to shut down at all.

My quad has had a similar issue. I say issue cause I dont know if its a problem. When I hit the factory kill switch it takes a sec or 2 to kill the ign.

Normal or not?
