Default zilla water pump question??

I rode my bike the other day and noticed that after i rode coolant leaked out of the weep hole. I immediately knew it was the water pump so i pulled the cover off and sure enough the bolt holding the impellar came loose and the impellar ground into the water pump housing... nothing too bad. SO i thought it was an easy fix. I ordered a new impellar and a new bolt as well as some new rubber washers thinking this would fix the problem. I tightened everything up and ran her again and the same problem happened except this time the bolt stayed tight. Everything looked fine. What do you think the problem is... i cant figure it out.

Did you replace all the seals? How is the bearing. Most people that hit this problem go in and replace everything because if you don't you will spend so much time replacing this and that and still have problems.

yeah change the mechanical seal and the bearing. And change the tranny oil also, check to see if its gray from water. the seal may be making it leak into the clutch area also.

coolant leaking there is so ultra common on a lt500r ,check mr dunes sandbox out for info on gasket fix, that seal gasket is so thin and poorly seats on motor ,very common problem and very easy fix( new seal ) maybe some special sealent added too.

WOW!!!! No JB Weld. Yeah it will stop it from leaking but you will never know if you have a problem with the impeller. If you impeller stops working you will blow your motor up in seconds. Put a new seal bearing and impeller it will cost you under $100. You have to figure the impeller itself is 18 years old so if it is slightly bent your going to have leaks and issues.
